I have found myself knee-deep in words my entire life. As a voracious reader in my childhood, I would devour a book every couple of days. Soon I took on the mantle of typing lengthy reports and letters for my grandfather on his trusty typewriter, and writing recollections of family holidays.
Editing books is an exhilarating process and a chance to constantly learn. As I work on my own book, I have developed great respect and appreciation for writers—writing is hard, hard work. To that end, and to ensure that I do the best job possible, I have a four-step process that I use as an editor—detailed notes on the entire manuscript, chapterwise suggestions, paragraph editing, and finally proofreading. Armed with strong skills and a commitment to meet deadlines, the editing world is the happiest place to be. It keeps me surrounded by words and the magic of stories. |
